Matilde Mas holds a PhD in Economics from the Universitat de València, where she was Professor of Economic Analysis until September 2021. She is currently Professor Emeritus at the Universitat de València and Director of International Projects of the Ivie. Her specialized fields include growth economics, productivity analysis, new technologies, and intangible assets. She has been a member of the World KLEMS project since its creation and has been director of DIGITES (DIGital Technologies Segment data) for the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, and SPINTAN (Smart Public Intangibles) under the EU’s 7th Framework Programme. She is co-author of 93 books and book chapters and has published over 100 articles in academic journals. In 2020, she was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit in Service to the Economy by the General Council of Economists of Spain. From July 2020 to December 2023, she served as a member of the Advisory Council for Economic Affairs to the First Vice Presidency of the Government and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, and since May 2024, for the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise. She frequently participates in the media and is a columnist for El País Negocios. She is also a member of Los 100 Experts of Cotec (Foundation for Technology and Innovation). In 2021, she was appointed as an expert advisor to the Spanish Economic and Social Council (CES). Since January 2023, she belongs to the expert group at The Productivity Institute Lab (UK).
