Luncheon on Achieving Planetary Health & Energy Security: The Contribution of AI & Digitization

Date and Venue:
Morosani Posthotel, Davos
Wednesday, 17 January 2024
12:00 noon to 2 pm

The world is out of balance in many ways. The event will be looking at ways digital tools, including artificial intelligence, can help in tackling planetary challenges: the health of humans and natural systems and the energy systems necessary to secure our social and economic wellbeing. As the world grapples with geopolitical tensions, climate change and sustainable development imperatives, the question remains how digital tools may be able to contribute to the solution. This session brings together thought leaders in innovation from various countries, including Japan, Saudi Arabia, Germany, USA, and Azerbaijan with the latter hosting COP29.

The session, hosted by PDIE Group and Schmidt Futures, aims to catalyze actionable outcomes and inspire a renewed commitment to purpose-driven innovation. By focusing on planetary health and energy security, and discussing geopolitics, AI and sustainability, the session seeks to create a lasting impact on global challenges and set the stage for innovative solutions to thrive on a global scale.

In her keynote, Ingrid Andersson, Vice President of the Global Forum, will provide an exploration of the technological, economic, social, societal, political, and ethical facets surrounding the integration of AI.
