Global Forum Webinar on Exploring 21st-Century Futures – Thank you!
Many thanks to all participants and our excellent speakers for the particularly enriching and inspiring exchanges during our webinar on Exploring 21st-Century Futures & the Global Foresight Readiness Index, held on 27 May.
In the first part of the webinar, we had Jean-Eric Aubert, President of Foundation 2100 and former President of the French Foresight Society, presenting a range of possible scenarios, highlighting how the future will depend on the choices we make in the face of risks and opportunities. His presentation carried a strong sense of urgency: the next decades will be decisive for a livable planet, warning that by 2050 it may already be too late to reverse some of the most critical trends. It painted a clear picture: we must act now to ensure that the future moves towards the best possible outcomes rather than the worst.
In the second part of the webinar, Françoise D. Roure, Board Member of Foundation 2100, introduced the Global Foresight Readiness Index, an initiative developed to assess how well organisations are prepared to anticipate and respond to future challenges. She explained that foresight readiness requires a proactive approach to alternative futures. The Global Foresight Readiness Index aims to measure the fundamental capabilities that characterise organisations to effectively integrate foresight into their strategies and operations: long-term foresight awareness, foresight preparedness, foresight response capacity, and the evolution capacity.
The webinar brought together expert perspectives and an engaged audience, resulting in a stimulating discussion and thoughtful questions from the audience.
