Global Forum Shaping the Future 2024 On-Site Event Postponed to 2025 Due to Force Majeure Circumstances
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of the Global Forum Shaping the Future 2024 event, which was scheduled to take place from November 5-7 in Muscat, Oman.
The current unstable situation in the Middle East region unfortunately poses too much of a risk.
Even though Oman remains a neutral country, the proximity of countries involved in a military conflict creates uncertainty about what will happen next and how that will affect travel to and within the region. In the last days, several airlines have rerouted or cancelled flights to Middle Eastern countries, and the situation remains unpredictable as we approach the event dates.
Additionally, we have received cancellations from government attendees, as many are now advised to avoid travel to the region. Embassies of several countries we have consulted also recommended against organizing an international event of this nature given the current geopolitical status.
As our objective is to make the Global Forum Shaping the Future on-site event a truly global meeting place, in a positive and conductive environment, bringing the utmost experience for all participants, we have come to the conclusion that we should postpone the on-site event to Spring 2025. The event will be held in a European city, which will be announced soon.
This decision was not made lightly, as we were all prepared to welcoming you to a stunning event, with a brilliant programme and amazing speakers in a beautiful setting. Of course, we will keep the current programme intact for the rescheduled event in 2025 and hope you will be able to join us.
We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding.
We will keep you informed regarding the location and dates of the rescheduled event.
